Back story

It's scary how we lose more lives to suicide than to physical illnesses like cancer. Emotional illnesses however can be just as dangerous and can happen to anyone. They may carry a smile every day, but are dying on the inside.

I wrote a poem and turned it into a cinematic short to help raise awareness for Mental Health.

My goal is to reach out to those who feel lost about themselves, are hurt, going through a rough patch or feeling suicidal — giving them a kind reminder that there is always a way out of that dark tunnel no matter where they came from. Whether it came from bullying, stress, abuse, identity crisis, loss of a loved one — We all felt the same set of emotions at some point in our lives: Fear. Sadness. Anger. Guilt. Emptiness.

These are all are valid emotions that makes us human. Asking for help does not make you weak; it makes you strong because you recognize that you deserve to be happy.

"I Wish I Could Tell You" are a list of thoughts I wish my brother (who passed away) could tell me during my darkest moments, before I myself attempted to take my own life.

Post-recovery, it has become things I wish I had told my younger self in the past, a reminder for myself in the present that I've grown stronger from it.

Now, these are words I want to tell others that are suffering so we can recover, together.
